What we collect
- Contact details you send us — name, email address, and message content when you email us or use the contact form (which opens your email client).
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate referrer, collected automatically when you load pages.
- Analytics data — aggregated, cookieless page-view metrics via Cloudflare Web Analytics (if enabled on our zone).
We do not run accounts, checkout, or newsletter sign-ups on dutchcode.com itself.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and discuss potential work.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To understand aggregate traffic patterns (analytics).
Legal bases under GDPR: legitimate interests (site operation, security, analytics) and, where applicable, pre-contractual steps or consent for correspondence you initiate.
Third-party services we rely on
We share personal data only with the processors that help us run the site. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and we do not sell personal data.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — DNS, CDN, security and cookieless Web Analytics. Data received: your IP address, browser user-agent and the URLs you request (all traffic to dutchcode.com is proxied through Cloudflare). Cloudflare privacy policy.
- GitHub, Inc. (a Microsoft company) — static-site hosting origin for dutchcode.com. Data received: your IP address and basic request metadata when files are served from origin. GitHub privacy statement.
- FormSubmit — delivers contact-form submissions to our inbox. Data received: the name, email address and message you enter in the contact form. FormSubmit privacy information.
Processors act on our instructions under their own terms and, where applicable, data-processing agreements.
How long we keep it
- Contact emails: up to two years after the last message, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing business relationship or legal obligation.
- Server and analytics logs: typically up to 30 days (Cloudflare/GitHub retention policies apply).

Under GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
